100 years ago if you heard the word ‘apple’, it would have simply been a reference to the fruit. These days, you’re just as likely to be referring to cutting edge technology from one of the biggest brands on the planet.
We come into contact with Apple products every day – from iPhones to the Apple Music streaming service.
Apple’s innovation has tended to be ahead of the curve in just about every area – except one very important dimension.
Why Apple employees are feeling a bit disoriented at the moment
Apple’s beautifully modern headquarters feel almost like a spaceship. There’s one interesting feature that gives off this vibe… it utilises a lot of glass.
Whilst this looks stunning, reports suggest that it has been causing some headaches for employees… who keep walking into the transparent glass walls at Apple Park in the US!
Apparently employees have been struggling to tell the difference between the automatic doors and windows.
Transcripts from the 911 calls obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle detail information suggest employees have run into glass wall panes, suffering bleeding heads and disorientation.
Very embarrassing for one of the world’s most successful technology companies!
Although a slightly humorous news story, it is a serious issue and one that would have been particularly problematic in the UK – it is a fundamental health and safety requirement for large areas of glass to feature window graphics or decals so that people can identify them.
These graphics can be simple lines, repeating patterns, window frostings or even your logo, but they are an essential requirement for businesses to ensure collisions such as the ones at Apple in the US, don’t happen!
