How to Promote Your Event

Have you got an event coming up? Maybe you’re putting on a training day or having a flash sale at your showroom? Here are our top tips for spreading the word!

Mix it up

If you want to reach a large audience when promoting your event, it’s important to use traditional marketing such as flyers, banners and magazine adverts, but don’t forget to embrace the powerful tool that is social media as well. You could create a Facebook event and invite all of your friends, asking them to share it will also get it in front of hundreds of eyes! Using online and offline promotion is a killer combination to help you achieve sell-out events.

Be bold

When designing your banners or A-boards to attract passersby into your event, don’t be afraid to make them bold and bright – vivid colours will capture people’s attention straight away. Make sure your text is clear and easy to read; sans serif fonts are best for quick skim reading, especially important for road-side signs.

Don’t forget the basics

A catchy headline is important for getting people to start reading your sign, but be sure to include the essential info about the event too – it’s no good claiming to be hosting “The gig of the century” if you don’t also mention when and where it is! You’d be surprised how often these important details get missed in the excitement of designing promotional materials.

Get in the news!

Local newspapers are always looking for interesting stories to feature, so ring around and offer an interview about your upcoming event and how it benefits your community. Upload a photo of yourself with the feature when it’s published and share it on social media for even more exposure.
